Fan System Optimisation (FSO)

Designed to empower professionals with the knowledge and skills necessary to enhance the efficiency and performance of industrial fan systems. This comprehensive End User Training covers the assessment of fan systems, identification of optimisation opportunities, and implementation of best practices for energy savings and cost reduction.

In the UNIDO The Fan System Optimisation (FSO) End User course is aimed at candidates who have a basic understanding of fan systems (either through field experience or by attending the FSO Introductory course). This course shortly recaps the Introductory course concepts and then continues with more depth on fan performance curves, fan selection and manufacturers’ data. A detailed explanation of fan control methods, their advantages and disadvantages will be followed by the introduction of Fan System Assessment Tool (FSAT). Measurement techniques and equipment will be introduced and the effects of different control methods demonstrated using the fans test rig (face-to-face training). The course culminates with the identification and comparison of potential savings and development of a business case for implementation of these savings opportunities.

What You Will Learn

  • Understand key terms and concepts of FSO.
  • Explore the benefits of optimising fan systems.
  • Examine different fan types and their applications.
  • Understand fan control components and their role in system performance.
  • Learn how to identify and prioritise fan system optimisation opportunities.
  • Calculate operating costs to evaluate potential savings.
  • Get introduced to the Fan System Assessment Tool (FSAT).
  • Input fan system data into FSAT and interpret outputs.
  • Practice using FSAT to evaluate and rank optimisation opportunities.
  • Learn how to adjust FSAT results for improved accuracy.
  • Measure fan system performance effectively.
  • Determine operational and maintenance best practices to sustain system efficiency.
  • Develop an actionable Fan System Optimisation (FSO) plan.
  • Build a business case to gain implementation support.

By the end of this course, you will be proficient in identifying inefficiencies, using FSAT software, and developing strategic optimisation plans to improve fan system performance, reduce energy costs, and enhance overall system reliability.

Before I used to rely more on laws of affinity to compute savings, thanks to this training Ilearnt so much and the FSAT software. The trainer share a wealth of practical experiences thatwill make my day to day services optimized

It is good training, eye opening on the FSO, great trainer!

This training was an eye opener especially when it came to the fans and how one would actually save companies a lot of money and power.

The course enriched my understanding of fans with a deeper appreciation of their impact in energy consumption.

Participating in the FSO End User training was
quite interesting. I enjoyed every part of it. The training support was excellent and the trainer was highly knowledgeable in the subject. My expectations were met and I recommend the
training to anyone interested.
