IEPA Examinations
AEE Examinations may be registered for once a training registration has been completed, or a course has been fully attended at an accredited training provider, or training administration service provider to IEPA. Once registering for an examination, you will receive a link to complete your Certification Application. The Certification Applications must be completed PRIOR to sitting the examination.

AEE International Examinations
The AEE Examinations assumes basic problem-solving skills, including quick and accurate use of a hand calculator, ability to use basic algebra, and ability to set up problem solution expressions and calculations from a written problem statement.
Exam results will be communicated by IEPA to candidates in the form of a statement of results. Examination results will only be released to candidates in good standing with the training administration service provider as well as with IEPA. Results are available within 60 days of taking the examination.
Only candidates that have booked for the examination, and fully completed their Certification Application, may sit the examination.
Examination day registration
- Examinees have to report to the examination center one (1) hour prior to the examination start time.
All AEE International Examinations are strictly four (4) hours. - The AEE International Examination Register must be signed IN and recognized proof of the National ID with a picture matching the person must be presented to the AEE Proctor. The AEE Proctor must sign a confirmation that the ID was checked.
- The ID must match the name on the course attendance register signed by the Lecturer to confirm a 90% plus attendance record for the training. Less than 90% of the trainee may not take the AEE International Examination.
Examination room rules
- No wireless devices of any kind may be used on any AEE International Examinations.
- All cellphones and wireless devices must be switched off and be put away from the examinees in a dedicated storage area in the exam room. This includes bags, cell phones, recording devices, laptops, PDAs, electronic watches, etc.
- No talking, or peeping, is permitted among examinees during the exam.
- Absolute silence must be maintained in the exam room.
- Upon request, examinees will be excused for bathroom breaks, but only one person at a time may leave the room during the examination. No books or items may be taken out of the exam room for these breaks, everything must be left in the room in the closed position, with the answer sheet turned over so that answers are not visible.
Examinees must have the following available on their desks for the examination
- A non-wireless scientific hand calculator is required to perform the required calculations.
- An HB pencil, pencil sharpener, eraser and ruler.
- AEE Examinations are open book and learners cannot successfully complete the examinations without bringing preparation reading books, notebooks, workbooks, charts and tables and course files for reference to write the examination.
- Only scrapbooks provided by the Examiner may be used and will be taken in after the examination. No notes may be made in personal notebooks during the examination sitting.
An examinee that is found to be looking at another examinee’s answer sheet, or using any of the prohibited electronic devices, will be automatically disqualified. A retake of the exam will not be allowed for a period of at least six months.
Examination Rewrites
AEE Examinations may be rewritten 60 days after the first examination and within 3 years of taking the course.
Rewrites can be taken at any of the examination dates available on the calendar, and in any of the countries where SI units AEE programs are presented.
Exam results will be communicated by IEPA to candidates in the form of a statement of results. Results are available within 60 days of taking the examination.
